Property in Mexico
Stilst recently started working with the Dutch organization Vastgoed in Mexico (Property in Mexico). It was founded by Barbara J. de Lalaing who lives in Yucatán with her family and works from there. The area is developing tremendously, offering many opportunities for entrepreneurs but also for people looking for a new homeland. Mexico is a country where individual freedom is highly valued.
Investing in real estate
The collaboration with Property in Mexico is ideal because Reinier, as an architect is a perfect complement to Barbara’s range of services. With his experience in construction and a current construction project in Mexico, he can give excellent advice to people who want to live and/or invest in Mexico in the Netherlands. Also in terms of design and how that relates to returns. Barbara has a presence in Mexico, making her the local point of contact to guide people there. Together we pool our local network of brokers, lawyers, construction specialists and property managers. If required, we guide our clients from A to Z in what is involved.
Cities on the rise
The Yucatán region consists of three states, namely Yucatán, Quintana Roo and Campeche. We focus mainly on the first two states. In Quintana Roo are the well-known beach resorts of Cancún and Playa del Carmen. Tulum and Bacalar are two places in the same state that are booming. Merida is the capital of Yucatán and is in the top 5 most livable cities in North America. The arrival of the Mayan train will connect the entire peninsula starting next year, providing a huge boost to the region. The new international airport in Tulum will be in operation by the end of 2024.
Building and furnishing a house
With our knowledge of the local market, we can spot and take advantage of the right real estate opportunities in Mexico. For example, to start a home or small-scale living community or community. Another option is to buy an existing house. Then we design and advise on any remodeling and interior design that fits both the client’s needs and demands from the market.
