Villa for Building Plot

This concept design is for a unique detached house in a beautiful location. This plot is located directly on the through waterway of the Noorderdiep and has its own mooring of more than 20 meters. The water strip, more than 3 meters wide, is fully owned, which offers a special feeling of privacy and freedom. From the plot there is an unobstructed view over the vast meadows north of the village of Blokzijl, while the historic village center is within walking distance.

Architecture and Orientation

Given the unique location, a house with a pitched roof was chosen, in keeping with the surrounding landscape. For optimum light and connection with the waterway, the living areas are positioned lengthwise, parallel to the water. The living room, located on the northeast side, offers maximum privacy and a beautiful view. On the ground floor there is a multifunctional room, which can serve as a bedroom with its own bathroom and walk-in closet, or as a study – ideal for future residents who want to live or work on the ground floor at home. The first floor offers space for three spacious bedrooms or, if desired, two very spacious bedrooms with generous walk-in closets. Furthermore, the bathroom and two large storage rooms are located here. There is an attic for extra storage space.

Sustainable and Timeless Design

Sustainability is central to this design. Timber frame construction with vertical wooden cladding was proposed to create a warm and natural look, which fits seamlessly with the surroundings. The roof consists of stylish, dark grey seamed zinc sheets, which gives the house a contemporary and high-quality look.
