VOLT dining table
VOLT is a study of continuity within an apparently fragmented geometry. The table investigates how separate planes and directions can coincide into a single readable form, without completely revealing their own logic.
What stands out is the way the tabletop and legs relate to each other. They are not conceived as separate elements, but as parts of a single continuous movement. Planes tilt, lines change direction, and yet the whole remains coherent. The table seems to unfold from a single gesture, in which construction and form coincide.
The geometry is sharp, but not harsh. Slanted surfaces create a subtle dynamic, ensuring the object never becomes completely static. From certain angles, the construction appears almost impossible, as if perspective and reality do not quite fully overlap. This tension gives the table a lasting layering in perception.
The color reinforces this effect. Not as an addition, but as a means of making the form legible. By treating the object as a whole, the continuity of the geometry is emphasized and the boundaries between the individual parts disappear.
VOLT positioneert zich daarmee tussen object en constructie: precies, helder en tegelijkertijd licht ontregelend. Een tafel die niet alleen functioneert, maar de ruimte activeert door de manier waarop zij gelezen wordt.
