Vintage armchair
Vintage armchair
When I was studying to be an architect, I fell in love with this somewhat unusual, vintage armchair. I found it in a vintage design store called Beljon in Rotterdam, which no longer exists. Being a poor student at the time, I could barely afford it. Still, I scraped my pennies together and bought it anyway. And though my tastes and styles have evolved, I have never regretted purchasing that chair.
Designer & manufacturer
I have owned it for 23 years now, but to this day I know nothing about its history. Designer and manufacturer, year of production…. it’s all unknown to me. After all these years, I would like to know if anyone knows. Perhaps the excellent design specialists at Morentz? The lounge chair bears some resemblance to COR Sitzmoebel‘s Sinus chair. It could be from the same period as the PK22 armchair, which also has a steel frame. Apart from that, I have no clues as to its origin. Please share this with anyone who might know!
Reupholstered
The original leather upholstery and foam were completely worn out, so I had it reupholstered with a Hallingdal fabric from Kvadrat. Some leather straps on the back are broken and a steel support on the back is missing since I bought the chair. Email info@stilst.nl if you have any information or contacts that can help solve this mystery.
